Wakefield & District Badminton League Website

As a result of only 4 teams registering to enter the League for the 2006/07 season the League's Executive Committee felt it necessary to call a Special General Meeting to put the following resolution.

 

From the date of this Special General Meeting, the Wakefield and District Badminton League shall be wound up by the present members of the Executive Committee, in accordance with the Rules of the Wakefield and District Badminton League.

 

This resolution was passed unanimously by the meeting with all clubs being represented.

 

The Committee expressed its regret that after some 54 years of providing competitive badminton it felt that despite its best endeavours the league was no longer viable and had no option but to propose the above resolution. It was hoped that the clubs would be absorbed into other local leagues and continue to enjoy their badminton.
